House Session Passing the Bill
On Monday, February 25, eleven Lava Ridge students traveled to the State Capital to present before the House Natural Resources Committee. These students were successful in having the Committee vote to pass their bill HB144 to the House of Representatives.
On Friday March 1, the Utah House of Representative voted to forward House Bill 144 to the Senate. The bill passed with 56 Yes votes and 8 no votes. The next step will be to present the bill to a Senate Committee.
The presenters were invited back to share their proposal with the Senate Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Committee on Thursday, March 7th. The Committee voted unanimously to pass the bill on to the Senate.
